Interactive Educational Assemblies
& Music and Storytime Shows (K-6)

- The writer of each story must be between the ages of 6 and 13.
- The students who are submitting stories must be from schools who have
booked my programs in the past or who are on my 2011-12 schedule. (This
is not an open contest due to my time restraints and ability to read all
submissions in a timely manner.)
- The short story must contain no fewer than 50 words and no more than 500.
- Winners will be selected throughout the 2010-11 school year and selections
will be made based on the ideas within the story and not how well the story
is written or put together. (This is to give younger children an equal
chance to win.)
- The stories must use characters from any of my books.
- The work can be submitted by the student directly, or by the student's
teacher or parent. If the submission is made by an adult on behalf of a
student, it should not be altered or reworked to try make it perfect. The
story should be submitted as written by the child (although spelling
corrections, to make reading easier, are permissible).
- Students may enter up to three stories during the school year.
- If a student's story is selected a winner, notification will be by e-mail.
Include the writer's name and a contact person, including e-mail address,
on all submissions.
Use your imagination and put your ideas down in words!
The stories can be submitted by mail to:

K-8 "Inspiration Project"
Inspiration Project Rules
and Submissions:
Each year I visit schools across the
United States and I realize with each
visit that I have been given the
opportunity to make a great impact on
the lives of many children. I hope that
I can continue to inspire children to
discover a love of the arts and a desire
to read and write.
This year I am introducing:
"The Inspiration Project"
