Pirates: The Ring of Hope Chapter Book by Daryl K. Cobb for advanced young readers or ages 10 & up Perfect for middle school readers

“Cobb’s 14th book comes complete with
pirates, mysterious messages and a
magic ring. . . . The characters are rich
and beautifully rendered, and the story
is sprinkled with humor. . . . Much of the
dialogue − especially between Peter
and Monk and Antonio and Marcus − is
delightfully silly. . . . [A] spirited
swashbuckling tale of mystery and
magic.”
Kirkus Reviews says that Pirates: The Ring
of Hope is ... [A] spirited swashbuckling tale
of mystery and magic.

Daryl is a children’s author/singer/songwriter
and premier educational performer who visits
schools around the country. His use of
performance arts (in his school/author visit
programs) to teach and entertain has educators
and assembly coordinators everywhere
consistently calling his author visits “the best
of the best” (Linda Kolb, Supervisor of Instruction,
Toms River, New Jersey), “unique and exciting”
and “off the charts good”(Judy Rothenberger RS,
Oak Ridge E. Pennsylvania)
Daryl’s takes his audience on a journey
through the creative and writing processes by
cleverly blending educational information
(developing ideas, editing, illustrating, the
importance of words, conflict, detailing, etc.)
with live performance, music, reader’s theatre,
readings and interactive activities. His
performances are compelling, his energy and
excitement for his craft is contagious. (“I don't
think anyone has ever interacted with the children the
way you did... and they responded to you in such a
positive way.” - Debbie O’Brien, Blairstown,
New Jersey, PTA.)
An author visit rarely gets this good! Rated Excellent by BOCES of New York State!
Daryl is the author of "Pirates: The Ring of Hope"
as well as "Greta's Magical Mistake" and many more.
Author Visits by Daryl Cobb!
We live in an era where the imagination now a challenge to get our children writing is so important for children to learn because it is one thing that will still allow them to flex those creative muscles. I believe that students need to experience this art form in a way that will truly help them to not only understand the importance of writing, but to allow them to experience the simple joy of it, as well. Whether it is through song lyrics, storytelling or books, children need to see that writing is fun, as reading is fun, and they need to experience what it feels like to bring ideas to life.
There are few things left in our kids' lives that allow them to use their imaginations like reading and writing do. So help me spread the word and let me show your students that writing and reading are adventures worth taking.
